Motherhood can be full of love and still feel really hard

Something small happens and suddenly you're overwhelmed, frustrated or fighting tears. Then comes the guilt for reacting in a way you wish you hadn't.

01
You don't feel like yourself
You love your family, but somewhere between caring, organising, remembering and getting everyone through the day, parts of you have become harder to recognise.
02
Everything feels bigger when you're tired
A small thing happens and suddenly you're overwhelmed, frustrated or fighting tears.

Then comes the guilt for reacting in a way you wish you hadn't.
03
Some experiences stay with you
You tell yourself you'll be more patient next time.

Then you're tired, stretched too far or already carrying too much, and your reaction happens before you've had a chance to choose differently.
04
You know how you want to respond. But sometimes you just can't.
A difficult birth. Returning to work. A hard season. Changes in your relationship.

Everyone else may have moved on, but something about the experience still matters to you.
START WHERE YOU ARE

The hard moments aren't the whole story.

You can love your children and need space. You can be grateful for your life and still feel overwhelmed by it. You can know the mother you want to be and still have moments where you don't respond like her.
Start with what feels closest to where you are right now.

Why YMJ

Most motherhood advice focuses on your child. We focus on you.

Created from real work with mothers
Your Mama Journey was created from Jade’s professional work with mothers and her own experience of becoming one.

The tools are evidence-informed, grounded in real conversations, and designed for the parts of motherhood that often get overlooked.
Practical enough to actually use
No complicated routines. No pressure to journal for hours. No expectation that you’ll suddenly stop having hard moments.

Just practical ways to understand what’s happening, reflect when you need to, and respond differently even when you only have a few minutes.
Made for every mother
Your thoughts. Your emotions. Your identity. Your relationships. The experiences that stay with you.
Your children are growing and changing. So are you.
That’s what we’re here for.

Meet Jade

I spent years supporting mothers. Then I became one.

Jade Marklew
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker · Perinatal Specialist · Mum

Jade has spent years working alongside mothers through the thoughts, emotions, identity changes and transitions that motherhood can bring.

Her own journey into motherhood began with an emergency C-section — an experience that reinforced something she had already seen repeatedly in her work.

Mothers are given endless information about caring for their children.

Far less attention is given to what motherhood is doing to them.

Your Mama Journey grew from that idea.

Today, Jade brings together her professional experience, her own experience of motherhood, and her work with more than 1,000 mothers to create practical, evidence-informed tools for the woman inside motherhood.

THE REALITY

Everyone has advice about raising your child.
Very little of it helps you understand yourself.

Motherhood doesn't only change your schedule.

It can change how you think, how you respond, what you want, how you see yourself and what you need from the people around you.

Your children deserve support as they grow.

So do you.
